The work is performed independently or on a team conducting field inspections and making independent judgments exercising technical expertise. 
<p>Summary of Responsibilities:<br />Must have the ability to conduct, health, and public safety, property maintenance, building permit, land use, zoning and public nuisance inspections on residential and commercial properties.<br />Responsible for erosion control, environmental and solid waste inspections for residential and commercial properties to ensure enforcement; and compliance of state and local erosion, sedimentation and solid waste control regulations.<br />Must able to work independently and as a team member to implement methods, procedures and techniques used in the interpretation and enforcement of code violations.<br />Must be able to investigate observed violations and complaints received through personal contact, telephone contacts and written communication with residents, property owners, developers, contractors and the general public.<br />Must have the ability to receive and respond to reports of alleged code ordinance violations from citizens or staff and provide information and explain codes and ordinances.<br />Must be able to recognize conditions that constitute code violations use effective techniques to interact with citizens and the public to correct violations and conduct re-inspections to ensure that corrective action (s) have been taken.<br />Must have the skill in testifying in court and work with the City Prosecutor to conduct hearings and prepare cases for prosecution.<br />Must prepare reports and communications and deliver quality customer service to architects, engineers, contractors, and the members of the general public. 
<p>Requirements:<br />A minimum of an Associate&#8217;s degree and/or five (5) years related experience and/or training in code enforcement, construction and building inspection field. Must possess or be able to complete a minimum of 16 hours of the curriculum required for the Georgia Association of Code Enforcement (GACE) Certification as a Code Enforcement Officer, or be able to obtain the International Code Council (ICC) Certification as either a Property Maintenance/Housing Inspector or a Zoning Inspector, within 12 months from date of hire. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver&#8217;s License with a satisfactory driving record. In addition, the candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule which may include weekends.

<p>The City of McDonough is accepting applications for a Biosolids Operator in the Wastewater Department. This work is skilled in nature and involves the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility. Responsible for land application of biosolids generated at the plant. 
<p>Major duties: Collect operational data for the activated sludge process, primary process, and solids handling; operate chemical feed systems and assist in the unloading of chemical deliveries; develop plans for proper land application of biosolids as they relate to the EPA &#8220;503&#8221; and GA., EPD regulations; record all data and prepares annual sludge reports; inspect for proper operation of pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, backflow preventers, air compressors, sludge thickening equipment, chemical feed equipment; learn to operate all plant equipment in all aspects of the treatment process. 
<p>Knowledge, skills and abilities required: <br />&#8226; operate hand and power tools to perform maintenance on plant equipment (including but not limited to drill press, grinders, all hand tools, welders, and cutting torches); <br />&#8226; routine mechanical repairs;<br />&#8226; read and interpret documents such as charts, graphs, gauges;<br />&#8226; detect flaws and defects in the operation of treatment equipment and initiate proper corrective action;<br />&#8226; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;<br />&#8226; work additional shifts when necessary;<br />&#8226; maintain all required licenses and certifications required by the position;<br />&#8226; lift up to 80 pounds on occasion;<br />&#8226; operate city vehicle and equipment in performance of duties;<br />&#8226; work in inclement weather.

<p>Requirements:<br />The ideal candidate will have a hospitality-related background. The candidate must have worked in an office environment and have the ability to plan, organize and multi-task. In addition, the candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills to be able to provide information and guidance to the client in order to obtain accurate event and catering information. Under the oversight of Mayor and Council, the position oversees all aspects of the City government, including the day to day operations of the City, developing and implementation of all programs and events, management and administration of the City budget, contract management and administration, management and supervisor of all City employees. 
<p>The minimum requirements for the position include a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Public Administration or related field and a minimum of three years of experience in local government management either as an Assistant City Manager/Administrator or City Manager/Administrator. A Master&#8217;s Degree is preferred. Applicant must have knowledge of general municipal management, municipal accounting practices, personnel management, public relations, public safety, budget control and possess the skills to coordinate with local, state, and federal entities. The salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
