Our consolidated government is in the process of strategically aligning our mission and governmental operations to the meet the needs of the citizens of Augusta. This position will be vital in providing visionary leadership and will report to the Administrator. Augusta, Georgia is a progressive consolidated government that has been nationally recognized by Money magazine as #2 in &#8220;America's most recession-proof cities&#8221; and the ranked as the 7th most resilient metro economy in the nation for the first quarter of 2010 by Brookings Institute. Augusta is known internationally for hosting The Masters Golf Tournament each spring and for being the hometown of James Brown. 
<p>Duties of the Position: Under general administrative direction, assists in directing and managing Augusta, Georgia&#8217;s managerial operations. This position is responsible for directing several functional areas and generally assisting the Administrator in the execution of his authority and responsibilities in executive leadership, managerial and organizational effectiveness, fiscal planning and budget accountability, public service and communication. This position provides administrative coordination, leadership and management support, facilitation and review in the general government and ensures that Commission direction is carried out and that policies, rules, regulations and operating programs are implemented. The Deputy Administrator may act in the absence of the Administrator. 
<p>Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a Masters Degree and five or more years of directly related experience in a similarly sized public sector organization. The minimum qualifications are a BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field and ten years of general managerial experience. Applicant should possess considerable knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, public relations, management, corrections, budgeting and emergency services.

<p>The City of Bloomingdale, GA (pop. approximately 3,000) seeks qualified candidates for the position of City Administrator. This position reports to the Mayor and a six-member council. The position serves as the chief administrative officer of the City and carries out the policies and directives of the Mayor and Council. Under the oversight of Mayor and Council, the position oversees all aspects of the City government, including the day to day operations of the City, developing and implementation of all programs and events, management and administration of the City budget, contract management and administration, management and supervisor of all City employees. 
<p>The minimum requirements for the position include a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Public Administration or related field and a minimum of three years of experience in local government management either as an Assistant City Manager/Administrator or City Manager/Administrator. A Master&#8217;s Degree is preferred. Applicant must have knowledge of general municipal management, municipal accounting practices, personnel management, public relations, public safety, budget control and possess the skills to coordinate with local, state, and federal entities. The salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
