Stockbridge is a diverse city of approximately 26,071 residents located just 15 minutes south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The city operates with a staff of 78 full-time employees and a combined operating and capital budget of $22 million. The City serves an area of 13.31 square miles. Candidate must possess at least an Operator Class III certification. This work is skilled in nature and involves the operation of water treatment facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with discharge permits. This position is also responsible for preventive maintenance of plant equipment.<br /><br />Major duties: Operates and maintains equipment such as pumps, blowers, motors, bar screens, chemical feed system, laboratory and other equipment; determines necessary adjustments to chemical dosages; collects samples, monitors and analyzes lab test data and records results; replaces chlorine cylinders and regulates the flow of chlorine. 
<p>Knowledge required: laboratory analysis; routine mechanical repairs; ability to detect flaws and defects in the operation of treatment equipment; computer skills; ability to prepare and maintain reports; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; drive standard equipped vehicles; ability to read and interpret charts, graphs and gauges; ability to distinguish between shades of color; climb into confined areas; other physical demands as outlined in job description. 
<p>Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent; valid Georgia Driver&#8217;s License; acceptable MVR; pass pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol test; satisfactory criminal history; two years experience in water chemistry preferred.
