Deputy Warden – Prison

Harris County, Georgia, population 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta, 30 minutes north of Columbus, and home to Callaway Resort and Gardens and FDR State Park, is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Warden for the County Prison.

This position reports to the Prison Warden and is responsible for ensuring the Lieutenants and security staff are following standard operating procedures to ensure a safe and secure facility for staff, inmates, and the public.  This position has final responsibility and authority for the accomplishment of objectives, utilization of resources, and personnel administration decisions within a major area, department, or unit.

Minimum qualifications include a two-year degree and at least four years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.  This position is required to supervise state inmate labor and must pass P.O.S.T. certification within six months of employment.

The starting $60,444.80 annually, plus generous benefits including and a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
