Listing Summary

The Georgia Office of Legislative Counsel is accepting applications for a position as a staff attorney. Primary responsibilities include drafting legislation, counseling legislators and legislative committees, preparing legal opinions on statutory interpretation and constitutionality, and performing legal research.

State Bar of Georgia membership in active and good standing status is mandatory. A juris doctorate (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school is required. Advanced skills in legal writing, client interaction, interpersonal communications, and time management are essential.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and for extended hours during legislative sessions. Full-time position with benefits, including a defined benefit plan; salary commensurate with qualifications.
