 This position performs technical duties in support of the department’s operations.   Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.  This position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.  Guidelines include department policies and procedures.  These guidelines are generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application.  Contacts include co-workers, other city personnel, members of the general public, other law enforcement agencies and courts.  This position processes payments of fees.   Processes paperwork on arrested individuals.  Performs typing and filing.  Assists patrol officers as needed.  Operates the Georgia Crime Information Center computer.    Performs related duties. The work is typically performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping.  Occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.  Ability to work 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.  Twelve hour rotating shifts changing three times per year.   Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or the equivalent.   Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years.   Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.  Knowledge of modern office equipment.  Knowledge of customer service standards.  Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.  Skill in decision making and problem solving.   Skill in dealing with the public.   Skill in oral and written communication.   

Qualifications
