Financial Analyst I or II

Listing Summary

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for performing accounting and/finance duties associated with business/occupation tax certificates, and alcohol licenses issued by the Department of Planning and Development. Essential responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Performs financial audits on alcohol, excise and occupation tax accounts 
  • Analyzes and monitors compliance with alcoholic beverage ordinance, occupational tax ordinance, and legal requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in special projects related to financial activities
  • Prepare, review, and submit a variety of reports and reconciliations
  • Communication with businesses regarding non-compliance and/or potential ordinance violations
  • Performing other duties that support the objectives of the Licensing & Revenue/Building Permits Section.

Minimum Qualifications for Financial Analyst I:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field;
  • One year of related accounting or other related financial experience;
  • or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to competently perform the essential duties of the position.

 Minimum Qualifications for Financial Analyst II:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Four years of professional level finance or accounting experience;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties listed above.
