Summary: This classification reports to the Assistant County Manager who assigns work in terms of general direction. The purpose of this classification is to direct operations and activities of the Public Works Department, including activities involving roads, bridges, drainage, right-of-way maintenance, traffic engineering, mosquito control, and other public works services.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Management, Public Administration, or closely related field; Master’s degree preferred; supplemented by seven (7) years previous experience and/or training that includes progressively responsible public works engineering, road/drainage project coordination, construction management, traffic/transportation planning, project management, budget administration, and management/supervision; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience within the hiring range of $101,296 - $131,684. Placement within the range will be based upon the selected candidate’s qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, Glynn County offers an excellent benefits package including:
