POSITION SUMMARY:

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency that focuses on issues critical to the region’s success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults and workforce solutions. ARC is dedicated to unifying the region’s collective resources to prepare the metropolitan area for a prosperous future. This is done through professional planning initiatives, the provision of objective information and the involvement of the community in collaborative partnerships.

Georgia Commute Options (GCO) is the regional Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program that provides customized worksite assistance, ride matching services, and incentive programs to help commuters, employers, and schools with solutions for a better commute. GCO incentivizes behavior change in the region's commuters from single occupant vehicles to carpool, vanpool, transit, bike, walk, and/or telework.

The Outreach Program Assistant will be responsible for program administration needs associated with GCO’s marketing and outreach projects. This part-time temporary position is not eligible for benefits; working up to 29 hours per week and will end on or before September 30, 2023, if no additional funding is identified.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Collaborates with Mobility Services Group (MSG) outreach, marketing, evaluation, and technology teams to strategize and document best practices for current contract planning process and future project implementation;
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to document key program procedures and workflows across different teams;
  • Assists in the development of an inventory/catalog of MSG performance metrics, data sources and reporting;
  • Researches industry trends, solutions, and best practices related to equity in TDM industry and research;
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support agency goals and objectives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of TDM and/or transportation and mobility concepts and programs;
  • Possess strong analytical, time management and written/verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to interpret data to support/inform program/policy decisions;
  • Ability to collate results and prepare reports/presentations to highlight key findings;
  • Ability to work independently and possess a desire to learn and solve problems;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: 

Associate’s degree in business, public administration, urban planning or related field

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, urban planning, or related field
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Experience using Asana or other project management collaboration tools
