Auguta-Richmond County seeking an experienced professional to lead its Human Resources Department. Director responsible for directing the overall planning, development and administration of the Human Resources Department including implementation of personnel policies and procedures, development of policy, and ensuring complilance with federal, state and local laws. Director evaluates and administers employee benefits, conducts or coordinates periodic audits of HR services, guides the overall goals and direction of the HR Department to ensure activities comply with established regulations, and develops, conducts, administers, and communicates plans to assist management and employees with policies, procedures and guidelines regarding benefits, compensation, training and development, employee relations, recruting, and retention.
Candidate must have considerable knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of human resource management, familiarity with recruitment, classificationa and compensation, benefits administration and employee relations and skills in negotiation and mediation. Candidate must have strong leadership and management skills, skills in oral and written communication techniques, and must be a decisive, responsive, organized and flexilble leader with strong problem solving skill and have a demonstrated ability to function strategically and tactically.
Requires Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, human resources or related field Master's degree preferred) and 7-10 years increasingly responsible experience in human resources management. SPHR or PHR preferred.
