The Upson County Board of Commissioners is seeking a highly qualified, professional and visionary County Manager to manage, lead and assist the governing body, the staff, the community and its partners in the continued enhancement of community and organizational policy, structures, and development. The successful candidate will possess demonstrated, outstanding professional management, communication and leadership skills with the proven ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team oriented environment. The chosen individual will have the necessary technical skills to advise the governing body appropriately on a variety of subjects associated with policy issues and challenges confronting a dynamic environment. The Commission will require candidates to possess a Bachelors Degree in a field related to Public or Business Administration and a Masters Degree in a similar field would be desirable. Given the complexity of issues confronting local government in general and Upson County specifically, those candidates with specific experience in managing a City or County government, or similar entity, will be given additional consideration. Candidates who are Full Members of ICMA, Credentialed Managers and those who are, or who have been active in their State Management Associations, such as GCCMA, are especially encouraged to apply.
