Main Street Director
Hahira, a progressive city of approximately 3200 residents and 40 city employees is accepting applications for the hire of a Main Street Director. Applicant should have education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: marketing, finance, public relations, design, urban planning, business administration, economics, public administration, retailing, volunteer or nonprofit administration, event coordination, and/or small business development. Applicant must be entrepreneurial, energetic, imaginative, well-organized and capable of functioning effectively in a highly independent situation. Applicant must possess excellent written communication and public relation skills, and the ability to interact effectively with citizens, developers, business owners, property owners, and other employees. Applicant will initially be responsible for coordinating the City’s application to the State to gain national accreditation for the start-up of the local Main Street program. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a Main Street/Downtown Development Authority community.
The position is full time working 40 hours per week. The Main Street Director will work under the supervision of the City Manager. The starting salary for this position is $32,500 to $40,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
