Fayette County is seeking an Environmental Permits Engineer in its Environmental Management Department. This is a full time position with benefits. This position is responsible for providing engineering support in the implementation of the County’s Watershed Management and Stormwater environmental permit programs and for managing the County’s geographic informational system (GIS) for Environmental Management including the Stormwater Utility. Requires knowledge of GIS concepts and principles, skill in the operation of GIS equipment, including computer hardware plotter/printer setup, and GPS; knowledge and skill with GIS project management, preferably with local government; knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic processes; concepts associated with unified stormwater sizing criteria; water quality and chemistry; and basic surveying principles; knowledge of the goals and objectives of the Environmental Protection Agency and Georgia Environmental Protection Division watershed protection programs. Requires a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, or similar degree along with two to four years of experience in a similar position. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Minimum salary is $44,775.11.
