DUTIES:  Under broad supervision designs and secures computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Develops database models, definitions and standards for administering databases and coordinating projects. This position will support Board of Health applications, including NetSmart (InSight) for clinical patient management and Munis for administrative functions including finance, payroll, purchasing, human resources, inventory and other applications, including but not limited to, Intranet, SharePoint, Office of Vital Records applications, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Crystal Reports. This position will be responsible for developing reports and custom requests for users and assist with application and user support, as needed. Performs system development and design ensuring the databases supported on each server and continue to run at high levels of performance. Maintains MS SQL databases. Maintains and monitors database jobs, alerts, and back-ups, as well as troubleshoots database errors and monitors query performance. Will serve as the lead Database Administrator position, including providing support and guidance to the Database Administrator 2 position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience in support of an operating system, database management system or a related field OR Two years of experience at the lower level Database Administrator 2 (ITP031) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants with direct experience with MS SQL and writing customized reports.
