POSITION TITLE: TEMPORARY Seasonal Flagger FY18-42
DEPARTMENT: Public Works – Roadways & Walkways
ENTRY SALARY: $11.06 per hour, NO BENEFITS
JOB SUMMARY: Flag and control traffic during paving and grass cutting operations. Perform manual work functions associated with maintenance and repair of county streets/roads, drainage systems, and right-of-way areas and other areas of assignment. Operate pickups and flatbed trucks (not requiring a commercial driver’s license) and miscellaneous hand-tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures according to County standards. Monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. This is an on-call position, must be able to work as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year experience in roadway maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Flagging Certification and Homeland Security Highway Watch Certification preferred, or willingness to be trained to possess and maintain the certifications. Scheduled work hours are four (4) - 10 hour days per week.
