This position assists the Human Resources Department in the performance of a variety of Human Resources functions and serves as a technical point of contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. Work involves administering daily activities of the Human Resources Department, including but not limited to HRIS management, leave administration, benefits administration, recruitment, compensation, and other related Human Resources functions. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Human Resources Generalist.
Process all personnel action requests including, new hires, separations, rate changes and benefit deductions into the Human Resources Information System; reviewing source documents for accuracy and completion prior to data input and verifying output.
Maintain HR data integrity (e.g. benefits, compensation, deductions for all personnel) in HRIS by running queries and conducting quality checks on the data.
Support processing of enrollments, changes and separations in various employee benefit programs, such as group health, life, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, and others.
Perform regular audits and quality control checks to ensure accuracy of data being entered; recommend internal controls to eliminate errors in process.
Coordinate with appropriate team members to resolve HRIS generated errors and issues in a timely manner.
Support HRIS enhancements and other technical projects as assigned.
Supports third party administrators for separated employees and for qualifying events.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of HR personnel documents, employee benefits files, and benefit plan documents.
Act as back-up for entering employee benefits enrollments, changes and separations on carrier web sites; produce required benefits reports; audit and reconcile changes submitted to carrier.
Support new hire and employee benefits orientations, open enrollment activities and separation meetings with continuous process enhancements.
Maintain HRIS system tables and within change management control standards. Support documentation of process and results.
Provide production support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing needs. Maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
Participate in development of user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train colleagues on new processes/functionality. Train new system users.
Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Through classes, reading, or other mechanisms, continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.
Assists with administration of FMLA, military leave, and long/short-term disability.
Enters and retrieves a variety of routine and complex information using a computer terminal or personal computer; uses the computer system to enter, update, and retrieve a variety of daily, monthly, and yearly reports.
Serves as liaison with other County personnel to assist department. Performs other duties as assigned.
