The City of Baldwin is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator. This is a full time position (40 hours per week minimum) in the Public Utilities Division. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the City’s Water Treatment Facilities. Operator must be able to weigh and feed the proper amount of various chemicals into the system based on dosage calculations, maintain plant operational records per EPD requirements, perform corrective and routine maintenance on pumps and motors, maintain plant grounds, and perform lab tests as required by the state.

Position Requirements: The City requires applicants have a minimum of a high school diploma. A class 3 minimum license is preferred but not required. Related experience operating a 4.0 MGD or greater is a plus. Applicants not certified must be able to obtain a Class III Water License as required by the State of Georgia. Applicants must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and a good driving record and must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Applicants must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, and as required for emergency situations and be able to communicate effectively. Successful candidate must pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
