Clinical Lab Technologist

DUTIES: Serves as medical technologist performing daily lab functions to ensure all testing activities are performed according to regulatory standards and BOH testing protocols. Performs a full range of sample collection, preparation and performs routine to complex laboratory tests and analysis on lab samples. Operates and assists in maintaining lab equipment. Responsible for quality control measures and exercises independent judgment while performing routine lab functions. May act as lead worker and or/supervise lower level staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a related science area from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory AND Certification as a medical technologist, MT (ASCP) or equivalent.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who possess clinical lab generalist experience in a hospital setting and competent phlebotomy skills with infants, children and adults.
 
NOTE: Employment with the DeKalb County Board of Health is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements.
