The City of Hinesville is the seat of Liberty County and is located forty miles southwest of Savannah. The city is adjacent to Fort Stewart, making it home to the 3rd

Under general supervision of the City Manager, the Assistant City Manager is a highly skilled executive whose major responsibility will be to assist the City Manager in managing the operations of the City government and acting as a liaison between the City Manager and the public by responding to inquiries and resolving conflicts. Contacts are typically with co-workers, City Council and the public at large and are typically to exchange information relevant to city administrative activities and to provide information and respond to inquiries from the public. In the absence of the City Manager, this position will have direct supervision over the City Clerk, Director of Inspections, Police Chief, Fire Chief, Human Resources Director, IT Director, Community Development Director, Chief Financial Officer, Public Relations Manager and Executive Assistant.
The minimum qualifications of the position include a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration or Business Administration with 7-10 years of experience in Public Administration. Knowledge required in economic development, grant application processes, budget preparation, human resources, public safety, public relations and state and federal laws in all areas applicable to city government.
Minimum starting salary is $84,157 plus an excellent benefits package. The position closes on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
