|Plans, directs, assigns, and supervises all work in the operation and maintenance of the Gainesville-Hall County Government Education Access TV Channel.
Insures distribution of quality and timely information according to established FCC regulations for government channels and established Gainesville/Hall County policies and procedures.
Initiates, researches, writes, produces and/or directs specific video projects, courteously interacting with citizens, employees, and elected officials.
Oversees the research and purchasing of all video and/or program production related equipment.
Responsible for the production and/or acquisition, scheduling, and promotion of all programs for cable-cast, video carrier, and streaming media on the Channel.
Oversees all technical aspects of the operation of the Channel, taking broadly defined missions/objectives and producing quality educational projects.
Stays abreast of the current trends in government access programming, production, and publication.
Conducts research, makes recommendations, and oversees contracts for all new equipment purchases.
Manages the maintenance and operation of all video, audio, and lighting equipment used during station productions.
Responsible for gathering and inputting all billboard/bulletin board announcements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
| Minimum Qualifications:
|Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, with five plus years of experience in TV production.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the minimum level of qualifications stated above.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of professional TV production and maintenance of equipment used.
Working knowledge of producing video for various social media platforms.
Knowledge of public relations principles, practices, and techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Knowledge of journalism theories, principles, and practices.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, other employees, media, and the general public.
Excellent project management skills - must be detail oriented.
Ability to budget, negotiate, and market projects and programs.
Ability to give instructions and supervise projects.
Employee supervisory experience a plus.
