Hourly Dental Assistant

DUTIES: Under direct supervision, assist the dentist or dental hygienist in chair side dentistry. Duties include but are not limited to preparation, operation and maintenance of dental operatory and instruments.  Perform routine support functions for the dental facility, and integration the dental program with other disciplines in the health center.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college AND Six months of experience as a dental hygienist OR High school diploma or GED AND One year of experience in a dental setting.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who have a minimum of three years of experience working as a dental assistant, current CPR certification and certification in Expanded Duties for Dental Assistants (EDDA) in the application of fluoride and sealants recognized by the Georgia Board of Dentistry. Certification in Radiology Training and Safety Education recognized by the Georgia Board of Dentistry is required.  Bilingual English/Spanish and competency in MS Office or similar software programs is a plus.
