Job Summary:
Barrow County, Georgia, seeks a creative, experienced, and innovative Human Resources Director with experience and a proven track record in the field of human resources management.

Major Duties:
Under limited supervision, develops, implements and administers personnel policies and ensures their fair and consistent application. Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel. Develops and administers the department budget. Directs or coordinates the county's risk management functions. Coordinates with other county departments to resolve personnel issues. Provides advice and management support to the County Manager and the Board of Commissioners. Responds to requests for information from county departments, elected and appointed officials, and the general public. Consults with legal experts on litigation matters. Develops and presents reports to the Board of Commissioners. Oversees the processes for filling open positions to include candidate searches, interviews, selection, and background checks; coordinates the recruitment of department heads. Reports the County Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a closely related field and have five years of experience in professional human resources administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree and SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.
