The City of Social Circle is seeking a Director of Finance and Administration.  This position will report to the City Manager and supervise a staff of five providing customer service, utility billing, human resource management, accounts payable, permitting and purchasing.  The City staff is collaborative and entrepreneurial with an emphasis on teamwork across all departments.  The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of municipal finance, enjoy extensive citizen interaction, provide analysis and strategic recommendations, and work on special projects. 

Social Circle is a vibrant, historic, and picturesque City located 50 miles east of Atlanta and home to a growing industrial, and technology employment base.  The City provides Fire, Police, Water, Sewer, Gas, Public Works, Transit and Permitting services.  With an annual budget of $14 m, and a City work force of 70 employees, Social Circle is committed to integrity, excellence in customer service, professionalism and expertise amongst staff, effective and efficient delivery of public services, transparency, long term fiscal responsibility, and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

The desired candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, economics or related field and five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience as a public or private finance manager. A Master’s degree and/or CPA, although not required, is preferred. Starting salary range $75,000 + depending upon qualifications.
