The City of Chamblee/CPL is currently seeking a Code Enforcement Officer. The Code Enforcement Officer provides the full range of Code Enforcement duties.  Work is completed independently, receiving occasional instruction or assistance when new or unusual situations arise, applying well developed program knowledge, and exercising judgment and initiative. The Code Enforcement Officer conducts investigations regarding various codes, ordinances and policies of the City. The incumbent refers complaints and requests to other agencies as appropriate and performs routine field investigations as assigned.  The Code Enforcement Officer communicates with Chamblee property and business owners on a daily basis.  Appearance at Municipal Court for Code Enforcement related citations is also required.

Successful completion of IPMC training is required or must be completed within six months from date of employment.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual capability in Spanish is desirable, but not required. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, in person, by telephone, and in writing.

  • Possession of an appropriate, valid Georgia driver's license is required at time of appointment and for the duration of employment.
  • A medical examination will be required prior to appointment.
  • Prior to hire, candidates will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, which may include employment verification, a DMV record check, and a criminal history check. Any information obtained will be used to determine eligibility for employment in accordance with the law.
