The Public Works department provides a high level of service to the community.
The City of West Point is seeking a forward thinking professional capable of operating independently in an innovative and results driven environment. The director will ensure all employees observe applicable safety, health and environmental standards. This position is responsible for directing public works operations for the City of West Point, including streets and sanitation. This position also works closely with other departments within the city.
Potential candidates should have a knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field with five years related experience. Potential candidates are required to have knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and supplies used in public works construction, repair, and maintenance. Candidates should have a familiarity with budgeting, public financial management, as well as, supervision and personnel management.
The salary range for this position is $53,640.60 - $81,301.25 commensurate with qualifications, with a competitive benefits package.
