The City of McDonough
is accepting applications for a Public Works Supervisor in the Street Department. This position plans, organizes, directs and supervises a street maintenance crew. Position works in the field with subordinates to complete daily work assignments. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director.
Plans and coordinates work schedules and crew assignments. Supervises a roadside maintenance crew; monitors employees engaged in clearing right-of-ways, cleaning out ditches, cutting grass on City grounds, sidewalks and parks, laying sidewalks, installing pipes, sidewalk construction, and building catch basins; supervises activities of crew during special event functions of the City; Ensures work is performed safely and properly; purchases materials and supplies as needed for department.
Computer experience a must (including e-mails and memos). This position processes the department’s purchase orders, work orders, and completes employee payroll timesheets.
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or two (2) years of technical coursework desired; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in street repairs and lawn/right-of-way maintenance with some supervisory responsibility is required; five (5) years of supervisory experience; valid Georgia Driver’s License; skill in operating front-end loader, backhoe, excavator, bobcat and other equipment used in street maintenance activities;; acceptable MVR; pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol test; satisfactory criminal history; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary for this position starts at $20.16 per hour. (This position is an hourly position)
