Transportation Planner II

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Planner for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office with the project site located at 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Directing transportation planning tasks associated with a 100,000+ population suburban city, which includes field research
  • Data collection and analysis, documentation, public outreach and communications, interagency coordination, and interdepartmental coordination
  • Directs preparation of transportation planning studies
  • Provides customer service
  • May perform duties in a combination of outside work and an office environment 

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in City or Regional Planning or demonstrated equivalent, a combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience
  • 2 years of experience in the transportation planning field
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills to explain rules and procedures clearly to the public
  • Experience in the principles and practices of planning, research and data collection
  • Analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematical techniques in practical situations
  • Ability to assist in writing proposals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
  • Working knowledge of transportation modeling and traffic analysis systems
  • Experience giving presentations in public settings
  • Applying established technical approaches, processes, and methods
  • Conducting technical analysis under supervision
  • Organizing and performing data collection and field observations
  • Analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information
  • Performing quality control and quality assurance
  • Preparing graphic material and presentations
  • Communicating technical and non-technical information through written and verbal means
  • Writing technical reports and memoranda in support of planning analysis
