The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants to fill a vacancy at Putnam County Animal Services for an Animal Control Officer
. Applicants must possess the ability to control and care for stray, abandoned, and/or dangerous animals; good communications skills both verbal and written; have knowledge of animal health care and diseases; perform clerical duties and prepare reports; maintain the shelter facility; lift and carry up to 100 pounds; must be able to work “on call” on rotating weeks.
The position requires knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with animal shelter operations, animal welfare, and field operations, including enforcing ordinances and laws that are applicable in order to ensure compliance.
Education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions are required.
This is a Full-Time position and compensation will be based on qualifications and the current county pay scale.
