The Putnam County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant
. This position consists of assisting the Finance Director with administrative and accounting functions and requires sufficient experience to thoroughly understand the work usually associated with an Associate degree in accounting or having held a similar position for over three years. The successful applicant shall have knowledge of data entry procedures and computer functions such as Excel and Microsoft Word, techniques for establishing and maintaining files, general bookkeeping practice; skill in basic mathematical calculations; maintaining accurate financial records; preparing reports; operating a calculator, personal computer, and copier. The successful applicant shall have knowledge of generally accepted governmental accounting practices, state and federal laws as related to accounting, skills in preparing reports, utilizing modern office equipment and in written and oral communications.
This is a full-time position and compensation will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and the current county pay scale.
