The City of Waycross is seeking a Animal Shelter Manager for Waycross Animal Services. This position manages the day-to-day operation of the Waycross Animal Shelter and is responsible for the needs of the animals in the care of the shelter. Additionally, the incumbent maintains accurate records of all animals entering and leaving the shelter; assesses adoptability using ASPCA guidelines; works amicably with volunteers, animal control, county inmate trustees, veterinarians, city, and state employees to ensure that the Waycross Animal Shelter operates in accordance with state, federal and local laws.. The hours for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent; must possess a valid Class C driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment needed; must be 18 years of age; have a high school diploma (or GED equivalent); have the ability to be bonded; have five years of related work experience; be able to pass a pre-employment physical, criminal background check, and drug screen.
