Rate: Non-exempt Position – Hiring pay rate depends upon qualifications and experience.

 

Position Summary

 

The City is accepting applications for a Records Clerk to perform various administrative and clerical duties to support and assist the City Manager, City Clerk, City Planner, and other support departments. This position will also provide information to the general public by telephone or in person, answer inquiries or requests and resolves complaints and problems, prepares routine replies to correspondence.  This position reports to the City Clerk.
 
Essential Duties
 
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with city employees and officials; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day; ability to deal with general public in an effective, tactful and courteous manner; ability to listen and ascertain the needs of customers; and ability to find and communicate accurate information concerning processes, policies and procedures to customers.
 
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
 
Knowledge of office and recordkeeping theories and principles; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, general computer applications and the computer system specific to the assigned department/office; skill in the operation of modern office equipment; skill in monitoring and tracking the flow of data and information; and skill in addressing and resolving customer problems.
 
Minimum Qualifications
 
High school diploma or GED and One (1) year of office support experience involving extensive customer contact or any equivalent combination of education, specialized training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
