The Northwest Georgia Regional Commission is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Special Projects Coordinator.  This position will be under the direction of the Regional Planning Program. Duties include assisting county and municipal governments with “special” planning projects related to broadband, support of local agriculture (farm to table), water, transportation, US Census, grantsmanship, etc. and other necessary planning activities.  Knowledge of local, regional and state planning theories, principles, and practices is necessary.

Knowledge of computer operations, technical writing, interpersonal relations, and oral and written communication are required. The candidate should have a Bachelors’ Degree in Planning, Business or related occupational field; 1-2 plus years of planning experience is preferred.  The candidate must be available for occasional daily travel within a 15-county region.
