Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this classification is to provide technical and logistical support pertaining to audio and visual equipment to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Board of Commissioners  and other county departments as needed.  

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Provides technical and logistical support for audio and visual equipment in auditoriums, meeting rooms, training rooms, etc.; and sets up props, stages, microphones, cameras, and seating for event participants.

Organizes, plans, and executes technical and logistical support for audio and visual equipment at special events, press conferences, openings, groundbreaking ceremonies and similar events; transports and sets up sound systems, microphones, tables, chairs; and operates sound system for programs.

Operates or uses various audio and video equipment, including audio mixers, microphones, projectors, and lighting systems, light trucks, and hand dollies to complete work assignments; and maintains equipment, troubleshoots problems, and schedules outside maintenance for equipment malfunctions.

Monitors and maintains the Maloof Auditorium; confirms the room, equipment and furniture is set-up and ready for events; and researches and recommends items needed for room upkeep.

Interacts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with terms of contract, including detailing of work to be completed, delivery of materials and/or services and conditions and standards required for each scheduled event.

Coordinates volunteers and employee committees for large county events.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and technical training in Audiovisual Technology, Sound Engineering or related field required; two years of experience in sound engineering, audiovisual support or television broadcasting; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required:  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
