The City of McDonough
is accepting applications for several full-time certified Police Officer positions. Applicants must be Georgia P.O.S.T. certified and have thorough knowledge of criminal justice system and local, state, and federal laws.
Minimum requirements: completion of High School Diploma or GED; twenty-one years of age; pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and alcohol test, and extensive background investigation; possess a valid State of Georgia driver’s license (Class C); have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; Georgia P.O.S.T. certified.

*Starting salary: $20.66 per hour ($42,980.28 annualized)
Additional compensation for college degree and certain approved certifications
*City pays 100% towards single coverage for Health, Life, Dental, and Short and Long-Term Disability, and pays 75% of dependent health and dental coverage
*GMA defined benefit retirement plan with 5 year vesting and several early retirement options. Higher benefit formula after 10 years. City contributes 100% towards the plan
*Take home vehicle for anyone living in Henry County or within 10 miles outside of Henry County line
*Paid vacation, holidays and sick leave
*12 hour shifts, every other weekend off
