Salary: $15.00 hour during recruit training academy
The City of Pooler Fire-Rescue is accepting applications for full-time recruit firefighters.
This position performs firefighting work in combating, extinguishing and preventing fires; provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured; and maintains equipment and apparatus. Minimum Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; at least 18 years of age; satisfactory MVR; pass pre-employment physical agility test; valid Georgia Driver’s License or able to possess within 6 months of hire; satisfactory background check, physical, psychiatric exam and drug screening. Successful candidates must be able to successfully complete our recruit training academy.
The Pooler Fire-Rescue recruit training academy is a 23 week academy. During which you will be trained to the level of NREMT-B, Pro Board FF1, FF2 and Hazmat Ops. Recruits will work regular day shift (40 hours per week) during recruit training academy. After completion of the recruit training academy, candidates will be assigned to a 24/48 hour shift schedule.
