Job Summary:  This position will be responsible for creating designs, concepts, and layouts for the City branding and marketing efforts. This position requires the ability to prepare visual artwork including presentations, logos, flyers, print ads and copy layouts as well as maintaining the City’s website.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in graphic design, art, web design or marketing.
  • Two (2) years related graphic design, marketing, web design or arts experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in graphic design, art, web design or marketing.
Major Duties:
  • Manage and maintain the City’s website.
  • Create designs, concepts and layouts for the City’s branding and marketing efforts.
  • Create monthly employee newsletter.
  • Create logos, flyers and artwork for City events and website.
  • Assist in creating sales packages to promote City events.
  • Assist in marketing City special events.
  • Manage the City’s social network accounts.
  • Attend twice monthly department head meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Knowledge with MS Publisher, Power Point, Communicator and Visio.
  • Possess time management and project management skills.
  • Requires a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness.
Ability Required by the Position:
  • Ability to use the internet.
  • Ability to operate computer, copier, phones and other office electronics.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with general public in sometimes difficult and trying circumstances (Customer Service).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the general public.
  • Ability to work accurately with detailed records and complex information.
  • Ability to work independently.
Supervisory Controls: 
  • Work is performed under the direct supervision of Director of Finance and Administrative Services.
Work Environment: 
  •  The work is typically performed in an office.
