The purpose of this position is to calculate employee benefits, interact with our members, and administrative duties for the Retirement Fund.
Responds to inquiries and questions regarding employee benefits coverage and provisions of Retirement Fund.
Reviews and audits retirement plan applications and related forms to determine benefit eligibility; creates participant files and obtains necessary records and documentation from employers.
Calculates benefits and lump sum distributions for employees, retirees, and their dependents;
Consults occasionally with internal and external contacts regarding the retirement plans.
Reviews correspondence regarding plan provisions, retirement options, and other matters to plan participants and other external contacts.
Processes retirement applications, and other forms and correspondence.
Prepares forms, information reports and other documents to member cities and plan participants.
Prepares the Monthly Reconciliation of retirement payments for the Supervisor
Bachelor degree in business administration or related field or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Would prefer someone with experience involving defined benefits administration or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
