POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a part time position for a skilled, secretarial and clerical employee responsible for providing administrative
support for the Community Center Director. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director.

Part-Time
Hourly Rate: $10/hour

POSITION DUTIES:
Operates a computer to produce reports, correspondence, and other documents from rough draft, written copy,
and oral instruction.
Serves as receptionist for Director; receives and screens calls; resolves problems/complaints when possible,
rather than forwarding to management personnel; responds to requests for information by referring calls to
appropriate staff member, taking messages, or providing information according to instructions or knowledge of
department operations, policies, and procedures; schedules appointments; calls Directors, Department Heads,
County officials, businesses, and others to transmit information from Community Center.
Processes and maintains a variety of daily, bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly organizational forms, records, reports,
and accounts as required by the Director.
Serves as backup to Director and other personnel.
Attends and assists in the planning of City Events which take place after hours and on weekends.
Performs related work as required.
Scheduled hours include evenings and weekends.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Georgia is a Right to Work State.
Considerable experience in secretarial or general clerical work. Any equivalent combination of education and
experience is acceptable.
Bi-lingual preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Good knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
Good knowledge of modern office practices, methods, equipment, and standard clerical procedures
Some knowledge of or ability to learn the department’s rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Skill in the operation of a computer and standard office equipment
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and maintain accurate records
Ability to maintain alphabetical and chronological files
Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
Ability to work independently without specific instruction
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public sometimes in difficult and trying situations
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the general public
Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 30lbs.
