CLASS: CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
DEPARTMENT: DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
REPORTS TO : LEAD CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
SAFETY SENSITIVE:   YES

 

PURPOSE OF JOB:
Performs work in the enforcement of all County codes and ordinances related to zoning compliance, construction and building standards, soil erosion and sedimentation and related land use concerns.

JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:
All candidates to fill a vacant position in this classification must submit to and pass a drug-screening test after meeting the following minimum requirements:

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; and, one year of progressively responsible related experience; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:
Receive certification through Georgia Association of Code Enforcement within 24 months. Valid Driver’s License. 

Please provide a current, satisfactory, 7 year motor vehicle report (MVR), issued within the last 60 days. Non-certified copies of the MVR will not be accepted.
