Finance Technician - Utility Billing and Collections

The City of Dahlonega seeks the best candidate to be a full-time member of our dynamic, friendly and hard-working team.  Practical and relevant accounting experience and good people skills are needed. As Finance Technician you would support the operations of the Finance Department, under the supervision of the Finance Director.  Your primary role in this position is oversight of the City’s utility billing and collections function.   The job will include customer service to City residents, utility customers, the general public, management, and elected officials. 
This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by three years of general accounting and clerical experience, preferably in municipal government.  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential.  An emphasis will be placed on strong customer service skills.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a quick learner, and a multi-tasker.
