DUTIES:  Under broad supervision, will provide assistance to public health nurses and county programs. Provides general direct nursing care. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication, providing immunizations, observing reactions, and documenting required information in accordance with policy and procedure. Maintains and reports vaccine inventory. Assess clients’ hearing and vision and document findings. Assigned to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health and acts as a lead worker over specified projects or programs.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND Four years of LPN public health experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who are knowledgeable in administering adult and childhood immunizations. Application and reading of tuberculin skin test.
