Job Title: Legal Assistant

This position is responsible for carrying out duties in a legal setting under the guidance of the County Attorney; including clerical duties, researching information for court cases, and assisting with presentation of cases in court.
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred), plus a minimum of two years’ experience as a legal assistant; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides a sufficient level of understanding of the essential duties of the position. Experience working with a law firm and/or County Government a plus. Individual should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be skilled in data entry, operating modern office equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Word. Applicant should have the ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision. Individual must be a citizen of the United States or qualified to work in the United States, have no felony convictions, possess a valid Georgia driver’s license, satisfactory driver’s history, and pass a background check and a drug screening.
