Salary: Minimum $38,859– Midpoint $48,994
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This position will perform tasks related to the application of construction codes for residential and commercial trades.
Interpret and communicate technical codes in both written and oral form. Schedule, perform, and document electrical inspections for compliance with the NEC; review submitted plans for compliance with applicable codes. Observe on-site test on an as needed basis.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the National Electric Code. Must have an electrical contractor non-restricted license for at least ten years and have knowledge of other building trades. Must have the ability to obtain additional ICC certifications within one year of date of hire. Must be familiar with standard computer programs. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License, a State of Georgia (Class II Master’s) Electrical Contractor’s License, IAEI or ICC Electrical Commercial/General Inspection Certification. Must have the ability to lift objects not greater than 50 pounds. ICC (certification) for HVAC, Plumbing, Building and Electrical preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED); must have at least five (5) years’ experience as an Inspector, Engineer, or as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Competent Mechanic in charge of construction.
