The Human Resources Manager functions as a senior level Human Resources professional in providing professional guidance and advanced technical assistance to Human Resources and other staff under the general supervision of the Human Resources Director. This position will provide support in all functional areas of the Human Resource Department including but not limited to risk management, recruitment, leave programs, employee relations and coordination of training and employee development and wellness programs.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Human Resources Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field is required, supplemented by five years progressively responsible and knowledgeable experience in human resources administration and/or risk management in a city/county human resources department, or equivalent in other governmental, private business, of comparable importance or magnitude.
Must possess a broad knowledge of policies, procedures, regulatory standards and operational requirements applicable to the field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Prior experience in worker’s compensation, FMLA, risk management, employee training and development, and/or wellness programs is desirable.
Memberships and involvement with professional human resources organizations such as IPMA (International Public Management Association for Human Resources), SHRM (Society of Human Resources Management), or others are a plus. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certifications are desirable.
