The City of McRae-Helena is accepting applications for a police officer position.
Requirements include a valid drivers’ license, no criminal history, and a high school diploma or its equivalent. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. McRae-Helena police officers perform a wide range of law enforcement functions including making arrests, issuing traffic tickets, traffic control, investigative work, report processing, and other duties as necessary to promote public safety and security, crime prevention and general enforcement of the law. Applicants must be willing to work 12 hour shifts, including nights and weekends. Salary is commensurate to experience and this position also receives benefits.
 
Applicants with POST certification are preferred. If the applicant is not POST certified, this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain current certification requirements set forth in the Georgia Mandate Law Enforcement Training Act/Peace Officer’s Standards and Training Act within six months of date of hire.
