Fayette County is seeking a Residential Property Appraiser I.  This is a full time position with benefits.  This position participates in the appraisal of residential property. Participates in the compilation of the annual real property digest. Obtains and reviews building permits referencing the real property parcel number. Conducts field reviews of real property to include notification and consultation with property owner for the collection of data to be used in the appraisal or real property. Takes and uploads real property pictures, entering all appraisal data and sketches. Collects data for real property appeals; analyzes sales rations, identifies comparable properties, and prepares change or no-change letters for the appeal process. Keeps abreast of appraisal procedures, market trends, construction costs, and applicable laws, ordinances, and legislation changes. Participates in preparing and defending the county’s position on appeals. Assists the public in person and by telephone; responds to questions, concerns, and complaints. Participates in the Disaster Assessment Team to identify storm damaged structures and assess damage costs. Maintains appropriate certification by attending assessment related training. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Entry level salary is $34,749.02 - $44,829.75, commensurate with education and experience.
