Administrative Support Specialist

The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission (NEGRC) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative-Support Specialist. The Administrative Support-Specialist is responsible for providing direct clerical and administrative support to the Administration Division under the supervision of the Executive Assistant.
The position also serves as the first contact for incoming telephone calls, visitors, shipping and receiving for the NEGRC’s four, programmatic divisions and approximately 35 staff members. The ideal candidate will have experience in office-administration duties including: document preparation and filing, form preparation, record keeping, maintaining calendars, maintaining databases, meeting and conference arrangements, fielding public inquires for information, and operation of office equipment.
The position also requires an ability communicate effectively over the phone, in writing, and in person with NEGRC staff, public officials, and visitors. Competency with computers and their software programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud) is also required. The successful candidate should be able to learn independently and perform as a self-starter and generally display a high level of effort in completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • High School graduation
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience

The range for starting, annual salary is $30,000-$33,000 based on experience and qualifications.
