The Johns Creek Police Department seeks dedicated, committed individuals to join our team. As a Police Officer in Johns Creek, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our community. Our complete benefits package is one of the best in the region, including competitive pay ranges from $26.49 to $41.73/hour with a potential salary of $59,931 - $94,419 annualized for an 84-hour schedule including:
  • healthcare, fantastic retirement benefits, including 12% of your base pay to 401a, $1 for $1 up to 5% match in the 457(b) retirement plans with financial adviser services available at no additional cost (this could be a total of 22%!)
  • a take-home Tahoe if you live within 35 miles after field training program

  • $800 monthly stipend if you live within City limits of Johns Creek
  • in house gym and locker rooms
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus after the field training program
  • longevity bonus of $5,000.00
  • Vacation: 95.94 hours -1 year of service; 143.78 for 5 years of service; 191.88 hours yearly for 17 years of service; and 239.46 hours yearly for 26 years of service. Sick leave accumulates at 4.42 hours biweekly.

If you are not a certified police officer and you make it through our recruiting process, we will send you through an extensive training program called P.O.S.T. that will certify you to become a police officer. *POST equivalency for certified officers out of state is accepted.

YOUR NEW ROLE

On your 84-hour schedule/12-hour shift, as one of our admired Police Officers, you will play a vital role in ensuring the protection and well-being of our community. Your responsibilities will encompass many duties focused on maintaining public safety and upholding the law. Additionally, your continuous knowledge of criminal law and critical elements of law enforcement will empower you to carry out special assignments and maintain a visible presence within our city.

REQUIREMENTS

  • US Citizen
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • 21 years of age (no age limit)
  • No felony convictions
  • No marijuana use in the last three years
  • No illegal drug usage
  • Possess a valid Georgia Class C driver's license with a satisfactory driving record or able to get a Georgia Class C driver's license prior to your hire date
  • Strong moral character and commitment to ethical policing
  • Physical fitness and agility test
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
