Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, plans, develops, and conducts epidemiologic investigations, surveillance, and interventions limited in scope and/or complexity to determine the causes of diseases and implement methods of disease control. Collects, analyzes, and interprets statistical data and prepares epidemiologic reports. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Assists with planning and conducting investigations of diseases
  • Performs formal case control and cohort studies of complex health issues
  • Collects, analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares reports

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in public health or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in amy field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field.

                        

Preferred Qualifications: In addition to Entry Qualifications, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: Office desk work with occasional community meetings/presentations, conferences, home visits. No physical demands.

 

Salary Information: $58,284 Annually / Pay grade L
