Purpose of the Position: This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.  Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff located within Marietta Bldg A Adult Health. Supervises staff that communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and recommendations targeted to meet customer expectations. Resolves complicated issues involving customer service and/or researches governing policies, procedures or laws to respond to clients or visitors.

 

Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):

  • This position requires high customer service skills for greeting and serving a diverse public community as well as internal customers.
  • The ability to comprehend information from Medicaid web portal system, Immunization Schedules and GRITS system, and various insurance verification portals as required.
  • Ensures that Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients have meaningful language access to all programs and activities conducted or supported by this agency; and that are in compliance with State and Federal regulation

 

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND Three years of lead/supervisory experience in a customer service setting communicating information OR Five years of lead/supervisory worker experience in a customer service setting communicating information OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 3 (GST122) or position equivalent.

                        

Preferred Qualifications: Significant experience and/or education relating to the specialty area of the position including insurance verification, handling customers’ complaints, supervising subordinate staff and collection of payments. Knowledge and usage of hardware and/or software related to the position.  The ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and in writing is preferred but not required.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: This position does not require a lot of physical exertion; however, not always a sedentary position.  The ability to lift 20+ lbs. as needed.

Salary Information: $43,903 Annually/ Pay grade I
